05/11/2008 - San Diego, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Khalil Greene belted a two-run homer run, and Tadahito Iguchi went 3-for-5 with a run scored and one batted in, as the San Diego Padres defeated the Colorado Rockies, 6-1, in the finale of a three- game set.

Scott Hairston had a solo home run for the Padres, who have won two straight on the heels of a five-game skid. Kevin Kouzmanoff had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Chris Young (3-3) got the win after he went six innings and gave up just one run on five hits.

"We have problems just squaring him up," said Rockies manager Clint Hurdle. "He's making pitches, whether it's by design or not, I give him credit."

Garrett Atkins went 1-for-4 and scored the only run for the Rockies, who have dropped two straight.

Greg Reynolds (0-1), who was called up prior to the game for his first big league start, absorbed the loss after he was touched for four runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings.

The Padres got on the board first, as Hairston led off the home fifth with a home run off the foul pole in left field.

San Diego padded their lead in the sixth. Iguchi bunted his way on to begin the frame and Adrian Gonzalez followed with an RBI double. Two batters later, Greene deposited a 1-0 fastball over the fence in left field for a 4-0 Padres advantage.

The Rockies put a run on the board in the seventh. Atkins, Brad Hawpe and Ryan Spilborghs all got on to load the bases and Cla Meredith was called on in relief. Chris Iannetta then grounded into a double play, but Atkins crossed home and Colorado was within 4-1.

Kouzmanoff's single in the bottom of the seventh scored Jody Gerut and gave the Padres a 5-1 lead.

Manny Corpas came in to pitch the bottom of the eighth. Luke Carlin recorded his first major league hit, a double down the right field line, and pinch- hitter Tony Clark drew a walk. Iguchi followed with an RBI double to left, and San Diego's lead jumped to 6-1.

Bryan Corey toed the rubber in the ninth for the Padres and got Todd Helton to pop out, Atkins to fly out and, after a Hawpe walk, Spilborghs grounded out.

"I felt good," Young said. "I was trying to establish my fastball early in the count. If I got strike one, then I was able to work up, down and out from there."
