Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton underwent surgery on his lower back, the club announced Thursday. The procedure took place Tuesday at Marina Del Rey Hospital in Los Angeles, performed by Dr. Robert Watkins. Helton is now recovering at his home in the Denver area, and is expected to make a full recovery for spring training.
